Multiple Sclerosis Awareness Week
In 2008, March 10-17 has been set aside as Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Awareness Week. MS is a disease of the central nervous system that continues to get worse as time goes on. The disease damages the coating of the nerves and interferes with the signals that nerves send to various parts of the body. Depending on the location and the degree of the damage, the individual may experience different symptoms including, problems with speech, vision, and/or balance. The individual may also experience fatigue, tremors, muscle weakness, and other symptoms. At this time there has been no specific cause for MS identified While there is no known cure, however treatments can make life easier for the individuals who lives with MS.
