Telephone Invention Anniversary Although there are differences of opinion as to when the first telephone was invented, March 10, 1876 is identified in history as the day that Alexander Graham Bell transmitted the first telephone message. His famous 'Watson come here..' message is known as the first telephone transmission. His assistant (Watson) was in another room at the time. This marked the beginning of the telephone and telephone conversations. Today it seems hard to go even a day without talking on the phone.
